NPSA Heads to Europe to Discuss New Container Opportunities
The National Portable Storage Association members are set to gather in Spain for educational and networking opportunities at the Resale Expo June 8-10, 2008.

/Advertising Marketing News Articles/ - KANSAS CITY, MO, May 15, 2008 - The National Portable Storage Association is taking its Resale Expo to Europe this summer. The non-profit membership association dedicated to the advancement of the portable storage industry will hold its next Resale Expo conference June 8-10, 2008 at the Dolce Hotel at Sitges, Spain, just 30 minutes from Barcelona.

"European companies are ahead of the U.S. in terms of utilizing containers for building projects, such as turning containers into condominiums and dorms. But the U.S. is ahead of Europe in terms of using containers to store equipment because there aren't as many retail sales operations there," said NPSA Executive Director John Finnessy, CMP. "We'll spend some time learning from one another this summer as we compare how we use containers and how to expand those uses to drive growth in our businesses."

Educational topics include European/U.S. retail operations, economic factors affecting container shipping, asset management versus asset ownership, a primer on the modular industry and how it benefits container companies, BIC-CODES for international container transport, and general roundtable discussions on issues affecting the industry.

Monday's networking reception and dinner will be held at the world famous Finca Mas Solers, the former Barcelona Casino. Expo attendees will also take a trip through the Spanish countryside to the estates of Jean Leon, as well as a tour of the charming seaside town of Sitges, which is known for its nice weather and nightlife. There will also be a reception at the famous Maricel Palace overlooking the Mediterranean. Millionaire Charles Deering purchased the palace in 1912 to house his vast art collection.

"I recall our first meeting in Napa, California in 2001 that had over 100 attendees," said Former NPSA Chairman Phil Herndon. "Our most recent Resale Expo held in 2007 in Monterey, California had over 300 attendees and is a direct result of the demonstrated benefits from that initial meeting in 2001. This meeting in Spain is one you don't want to miss!"
