URALCHEM, OJSC has received a Russian state registration certificate for sodium nitrite E250 in addition to its registration with the European Chemicals Agency. Now the product can be used as a component in food additives.
MOSCOW, RUSSIA, October 20, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- URALCHEM, OJSC has received a Russian state registration certificate for sodium nitrite E250 in addition to its registration with the European Chemicals Agency. Now the product can be used as a component in food additives.
The state registration certificate for URALCHEM's first product for the food industry was signed by Gennadi Onishchenko, the Chief Medical Officer of the Russian Federation. The document was issued by the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being of the Russian Federation on the basis of the experts' report by the Institute of Nutrition. It shows that the product meets the federal services sanitary, epidemiology and hygiene requirements. The certificate is valid across the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
URALCHEM's new product can be used to manufacture food additives that improve colour and can function as preservatives in meat and fish products. Azot Branch of URALCHEM can produce more than 17 000 tons of this product annually.
"Now the enterprise will be able to significantly expand its markets for sodium nitrite in addition to the metal treatment, rubber and paint industries, and successfully compete with foreign equivalents in the food industry as well," said the head the quality control of Azot Branch of URALCHEM, Igor Tsybulsky.
